Yabancı sermaye yatırımları ve büyüme üzerine etkileri: Türkiye örneği üzerine amprik bir uygulama

Abstract

Doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları (DYSY) ve çokuluslu şirketler (ÇUŞ) 1960'lı yıllardan sonra önem kazanmış ve DYSY'yi açıklayabilmek için pek çok teori geliştirilmiştir. Son yıllarda DYSY'nin ev sahibi ülke ekonomisi, özellikle büyümesi üzerine etkilerini inceleyen birçok amprik çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmalarda kullanılan değişkenlerin etkisiyle de farklı sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır.Bu çalışmada da, DYSY'nin Türkiye'nin ekonomik büyümesi üzerine etkileri 1970-2008 dönemi için arttırılmış toplam üretim fonksiyonu (augmented aggregate production function) ve Johansen Eştümleşme Analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucunda, DYSY'nin büyüme üzerine pozitif, ancak anlamsız bir etkiye sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

After 1960s, foreign direct investment (FDI) and multinational corporations (MNC) have gained importance and many theories have been developed to explain them. In recent years, many emprical studies examining the effects of FDI on host country economies, especially economic growth have been made. With the effects of the variables used in these studies have also been reached different conclusions about the effects on growth.In this study, the effects of FDI on Turkeys economic growth were analysed for the 1970-2008 period using augmented aggregate production function and Johansen cointegration analysis. The finding of the analysis showed that the foreign direct investment have a positive, but statistically insignificant effect on economic growth.
