İlköğretim 7. sınıf fen ve teknoloji dersindeki insan ve çevre konusunun işbirlikçi yöntemle işlenmesinin öğrenci başarısı ve tutumu üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada; İşbirlikçi Öğrenme Yönteminin, İlköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen ve Teknoloji dersindeki başarılarına ve derse karşı olan tutumlarına etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, ön test son test kontrol gruplu bir desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma 2009-2010 eğitim-öğretim yılının II. döneminde 5 hafta süreyle, Bursa Nilüfer, Kestel ve Yıldırım ilçelerinden seçilen okullarda gerçekleştirilmiş ve çalışmaya 207 öğrenci katılmıştır. Bu okullardaki ilköğretim 7. sınıf şubelerinden biri deney grubu (n=104), diğeri de kontrol grubu (n=103) olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada 7. sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde yer alan ?İnsan ve Çevre? ünitesi, deney gruplarında İşbirlikçi Öğrenme Yöntemi, kontrol gruplarında ise Geleneksel Öğretim Yöntemi kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak; Seviye Testi, Konu Başarı Testi, Fen ve Teknoloji Dersi Tutum Ölçeği ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmış, ayrıca öğrencilerin yöntemle ilgili görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla sınıf içi gözlemler ve görüşmeler yapılmıştır.Veriler aritmetik ortalama, bağımlı ve bağımsız gruplar için t-testi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde deney gruplarına uygulanan İşbirlikçi Öğrenme Yönteminin, kontrol gruplarına uygulanan geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre başarıyı arttırmada ve derse karşı olumlu tutum geliştirmede daha etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, the effects of the Cooperative Learning Method on achievements and attitudes toward lesson of 7th grade students in elementary school were investigated. A control group design with pre-test and post-test has been used in the current research study. The sample of this study was 207 seventh grade students from four different elementary schools in Bursa. The data was collected in the Spring semester of 2009-2010 school year for five weeks. One of the 7th grade classes in these schools has been chosen as an experimental group (n=104) and the other as a control group (n=103). The unit entitled “ Human and Environment” in the 7th grade Science and Technology textbook has been carried out through Cooperative Learning Method in the experimental groups. On the other hand Traditional Learning Method was implemented in the control groups. Data collection tools of this study were the Placement Test, the Subject Achievement Test and the Attitude Scale for the technology course have been used as pre-test and post-test. In addition to identify the ideas of the students about the methodology observations and interviews were conducted by the researcher. Data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Independent and PairedSamples t-test. The findings of this dissertation study indicated that Cooperative Learning Method was more effective than the Traditional Learning Method on students‟ achievement and attitudes towards Science and Technology course.
