Panopticon ve synopticon geriliminde özgürlük paradoksu

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Foucault’nun özgürlük paradoksu temelinde, özne-iktidar ilişkisi üzerine analizler yapılacaktır. Foucault, öznelerin özgür olduğunu ve iktidarın öznenin özgürlüğüyle ancak kendini var ettiğini iddia etmesine rağmen, bu makalede, bu paradoksun geçerli olmadığı iddia edilecektir ve öznenin iktidar ilişkileri içinde kendine nasıl yabancılaştığı gözler önüne serilecektir. Panopticon ve Synopticon’un ne olduğu belirlenerek, öznenin bunlardan nasıl pay aldığı gösterilecektir. Bu bağlamda, bir güç kaynağı olan iktidar tarafından kontrol altında tutulan özne, nasıl özgür olduğunu iddia edebilir? Öznenin iktidar temelli bir yapıda kendini gerçekleştirip, özgürleşmesi mümkün müdür? Özneler iktidar oyunu içerisindeki yerlerinin farkında mıdır? Panopticon ve Synopticon gölgesinde öznelerin üzerlerinde oynanan oyunlar nelerdir? gibi soruların cevapları aranacaktır.

In this study the connection between the subject and power relations will be analysed, based on Foucault’s freedom paradox. Although Foucault claims that subjects are free and the power can be self-realised through the subject’s freedom, we will claim that the subject cannot be free because of the power’s pressure, and the subject will have a self-alienation within the power relations. It will also be shown how the subject is affected by these relations as defined by Panopticon and Synopticon. In this sense, we will search for answers to these questions: The subject, which is kept under control by the power, how can they claim if he or she is free? Is it possible to be free in a structure where its origin comes from the power? Do subjects know their place in the power games? What are Panopticon and Synopticon and what are their effects on people? Which games are played on subjects in the shadow of Panopticon and Synopticon?
