Din eğitimi açısından tolerans kavramı

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın konusu, Batı'daki din ve mezhep kavgalarının tahammül edilemez tahribatından sonra ortaya çıkan, farklı inanç ve düşünceleri kabul etmeyi ifade eden tolerans kavramının din eğitimindeki yerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada tolerans kavramı üzerinde durularak, kavramın etimolojisi, tarihsel arka planı ve Türk dilindeki kullanımı araştırılmıştır. Tolerans kavramının dünden bugüne gösterdiği değişim gözler önüne serilmiş ve tolerans kavramına anlamca yakın olan kelimeler incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, tolerans kavramının İslam'da nasıl karşılık bulduğu ele alınarak, İslam dininin eşitliğe, adalete ve inanç özgürlüğüne verdiği öneme vurgu yapılmıştır. Bu çerçevede İslam'ın ötekine ve farklılıklara karşı bakış açısına değinilerek, tolerans perspektifinde Kur'an'ın tebliğ ilkeleri ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmada farklı din ve mezheplere mensup bireylerin aynı eğitim ortamında bulunmaları sebebiyle, çoğulculuk politikaları kapsamında geliştirilen din eğitimi modelleri araştırılmıştır. Literatür ve doküman incelemesine dayalı olan bu araştırmanın amacı, toleransın hem din eğitimi faaliyetlerinin düzenlenmesindeki etkisini, hem de bireyin kendisinden farklı inanç ve değerlere sahip olanlara karşı tolerans anlayışı geliştirmesinde din eğitiminin rolünü tespit etmektir. Bu noktada tolerans kavramı açısından din eğitiminin işlevleri araştırılmış, ötekine karşı toleranslı bireyler yetiştirmek ve barış içerisinde bir arada yaşamayı kolaylaştırmak için birtakım öneriler sunulmuştur.

The subject of this study is to examine the place of the concept of tolerance in religious education which states to accept different beliefs and thoughts that emerged after the intolerable destruction of religious and sectarian fights in the West. In this study, the etymology, historical background and usage of the concept in Turkish language are investigated by focusing on the concept of tolerance. It is revealed the changes that the concept of tolerance has shown from past to present and the words that are close to the concept of tolerance are examined. In this study, it is emphasized how tolerance is found in Islam and the importance of Islamic religion to equality, justice and freedom of belief is also stressed. In this context, Islam's point of view towards the others and differences are mentioned, and the principles of the Qur'an's manifestation are put forward in the perspective of tolerance. In this study, religious education models developed within the scope of pluralism policies are investigated due the fact that individuals belonging to different religious and sects are in the same educational environment. The aim of this study, which is based on literature and document analysis, is to determine the effect of tolerance both on the regulation of religious education activities and the role of religious education in developing an understanding of tolerance towards individuals with different beliefs and values. At this point, the functions of religious education are investigated in terms of the concept of tolerance, and some suggestions were made to raise tolerant individuals to the other and to facilitate peaceful coexistence.
