Eleştirmen ve şair olarak Veliyyuddîn Yeğen’in çağdaş Arap edebiyatındaki yeri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada son dönem Osmanlı aydınlarından Veliyyüddîn Yeğen’in eleştirmen ve şair olarak çağdaş Arap edebiyatındaki yeri üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu bağlamda kısa bir girişin ardından önce Yeğen’in, biyografisinin konuya ışık tutacak yönlerine yer verilmiştir. Daha sonra konunun esasını teşkil eden eleştirmen ve şair kişiliği çerçevesinde karakteristik özellikleri, ilk edebî faaliyetleri, sosyal ve siyasal tecrübelerinin edebî çizgisindeki rolü, hapis ve sürgün süreci yansımaları, son kez Mısır’a yerleşmesi ve buradaki edebî faaliyetleri, ele aldığı konular, eserleri ve içerikleri gibi hususlar ele alınıp değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma kısa bir sonuç ve değerlendirme bölümüyle sona ermiştir.

This article deals with the place of Veliyyuddin Yeğen, one of the late Ottoman intellectuals, in the modern Arabic literature as a critic and poet. In this context, after a short introduction, it mentions some aspects of his biography which can shed light on the issue. Later it examines his qualifications related to his being a critic and poet, his first literary works, the influence of his political and social experiments, and his life of in prison and exile on his writings. Also it states his settlement in Egypt at the end of his life, his literary activities there, the subjects he dealt with, his works and their contents. The article ends with a short conclusion and evaluation.
