Abstract: Çocuklar resimlerinde dış dünyaya yönelik algılarını ortaya koyarak kendi iç dünyalarına ilişkin birçok ipucu verirler. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin 243'ü birinci sınıf, 238'i ikinci sınıf, 280'i üçüncü sınıf ve 234'ü ise dördüncü sınıftır.
Children reveal their perceptions about the outside world and give many clues about their inner world through their drawings. At the same time, children's drawings give us information about the development of children. Teachers leave strong impressions on their students, and most people remember their primary school teachers throughout their life. Based on this information, the subject of this study is to examine the children's perceptions of their elementary school teachers through the drawings they make and the relationship between the demographic information obtained from the students and the scores they get from the Goodenough-Harris Draw a Human Test. For this purpose, in the research, the mixed method was used as the data collection method including both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. The qualitative dimension of the research was carried out by using phenomenology, which is one of the qualitative research patterns. In the quantitative dimension, the screening model was used. 995 primary school students attending state primary schools in 2017-2018 academic year in Gönen district of Balıkesir province participated in the study. Within the scope of this research, the sample representing the universe was formed by the stratified sampling method, which is one of the random sampling methods. 243 of the students participating in the research were 1st grade, 238 were 2nd grade, 280 were 3rd grade and 234 were 4th-grade students. In this study, the personal information form, Goodenough-Harris Draw A Human Test and the Teacher Perception List were used. A preliminary study of the research was conducted and as a result of this preliminary study, the statement to be given for the children to draw was determined. With this statement, the children were asked to draw and their drawings were examined. As a result of this research, a significant difference was found in the scores obtained by the participating students from the Goodenough-Harris test in the study in favor of female students, in favor of students who were receiving pre-school education, and in favor of those whose classroom teachers were male. In light of the findings of this study, it was observed that students often drew their classroom teachers as happy, young and well-groomed. It was observed that 50.1% of the students who participated in the study drew the classroom teacher as a male, and the majority of the students drew the teacher figure near the school or in the classroom. At the same time, according to the results of this research, it was determined that the children in the study group had a positive perception towards teachers.
