Abstract: | The effective atomic numbers for total photon interaction in muscle, bone, brain, heart, kidney liver, lungs, ovaries, pancreas, spleen and tongue are evaluated using three different methods, for practical use in the energy region 15-100 keV. Muscle, brain, heart, kidney, lungs, ovaries, pancreas, spleen, tongue and water; bone and silicon; liver and oxygen are found to behave in an approximately similar manner in this energy region. |
