Abstract: Age hardening is important for improving mechanical properties of Al-alloys. However, this improvement is gained in the expense of decreasing corrosion resistance. In this study, some mehcanical property changes of an Al-alloy (4.5% Cu), depending on age hardening conditions and a corrosive atmosphere is examined. Aging behavior and differences in corrosion resistance with the addition of Ag are outlined in this paper.
