Tanzimat Dönemi eserlerinde aile içindeki hizmetliler ve bunların birbiriyle ilişkileri

Abstract

Tanzimat Edebiyatı, yönünü Batı'ya döndüğü kadar yaşadığı toplumun sorunlarına da ayna tutan bir edebiyat dönemidir. Eşitlik, hürriyet, adalet gibi kavramlar bu dönemle birlikte edebiyatımızdaki yerini almıştır.Tanzimat Döneminde ev içi hizmetlilik anlayışı, esaretle gelişen bir süreçtir. Dönem içerisindeki pek çok yazar, eserlerinde bu olguya geniş bir şekilde yer vermiş; toplumun bu bireylere yaklaşımını, bireylerin yaşadıklarını irdelemiştir. Toplum içerisinde kabul görmüş birtakım değer yargıları, bireyin hürriyeti temi çevresinde mercek altına alınmıştır. Eserlerde yaygın olarak konaklardaki cariyelik anlayışının işlendiği görülmektedir. Özellikle cariyelerin evin hanımı ve beyi tarafından gördüğü muameleler, bu kurumdaki aksaklıkları gözler önüne sermektedir. Kimi eserlerde ev içi hizmetlilerin mutlu sona kavuştukları görülürken kimisinde ise hayattan koparıldıkları görülmektedir. Dönem yazarlarının bu konuyu işlerken romantizm akımı ile realizmin unsurlarını başarıyla harmanladıkları görülmektedir. Bunda; görülen, tanık olunan olayların, içinde yetişilen konakların, kimi zaman ise esir bir annenin evladına anlattığı hikâyelerin katkısı büyüktür.Tanzimat sanatçıları, işledikleri konularla kendi dönemlerini etkiledikleri kadar sonraki dönemleri de etkilemiş ve yol açıcı olmuşlardır. Tanzimat Dönemi ev içi hizmetlilik anlayışı, bireyin haklarının sorgulandığı, esarete bakış açısının değişmesi yönünde adımların atıldığı, yeni bir toplum düzeninin arzulandığını gösteren bir tem olması bakımından oldukça önemlidir.

Literature of Reforms belongs to a period of literature which reflected the problems of the society in which it existed as much as directed its intentions towards the West. Such concepts as equality, freedom and justice took place in our literature by this period. In period of Reforms the concept of family servant grown by the fact of slavery. A number of authors considered this fact widely in their works and investigated the life of these individuals and the society’s approach to them. Some value judgments accepted by the society inspected in the frame of the theme of individual freedom. It is observed that the works commonly considered the concept of concubine which was a part of the mansions of that period. Particularly the treatments of the ladies and gentlemen of these mansions to the concubines and failures of this institution were shown. It is seen that in some of these works house servants achieve a happy end but in others their threat of life is broken by the householders. It is observed that authors of this period mixed the elements of Romanticism and of Realism successfully. Certain events that had been observed and witnessed , mansions in which the authors grown up and a story which was told by a slave mother to her child make considerable contribution to them as materials. Authors of the Reform Period influenced later periods as much as their own and they opened a new way for them. In the Reform period the concept of house servant was a considerably significant theme, since in terms of which individual rights were inquired and important steps were taken for evaluating slavery and since it exhibited a desire for a new order.
