Dinî değişim: Literatür temelli teorik bir araştırma

Abstract

Bu araştırma, dinî değişim tecrübesini kavramsal ve kuramsal açıdan anlamayı hedeflemektedir. Araştırmada konu ile ilgili Türkçe ve İngilizce kaynaklardan yararlanılmıştır. Birinci bölümde kavramsal çerçeve çizilmiştir. Batıdaki ilk dinî değişim araştırmaları Hıristiyanlık (Katolik, Ortodoks ve Protestan) dâhilindeki geçişler üzerine Paul'un din değiştirme tecrübesi prototip alınarak incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmacılar, dinî değişimin aniden ve dramatik bir şekilde görüldüğü çalışmalara odaklanmışlardır. Zamanın ruhu değiştikçe dinî değişim çalışmalarında alan genişlemiştir. Çağdaş dinî değişim araştırmacıları yeni dinî ve manevî akımlara, Batı kökenli olmayan ve Hıristiyan ise de mezhepsel nitelikli radikal gruplara odaklanmaktadırlar. Bununla birlikte çağdaş araştırmacılar dinî deneyimlerin yitirilmesi veya yeni bir dinî deneyime duyulan ilgi ile başlayan dinden ayrılma sürecini de araştırma alanlarına dâhil etmiştir. Dinî değişim, yönü itibariyle incelendiğinde; içten içe, dinden dine, dıştan içe ve içten dışa doğru gerçekleşir. Dinî değişim, zaman itibariyle incelendiğinde; ani gerçekleşen dinî değişim, kademeli dinî değişim, toplumdan kaynaklı dinî değişim olarak ele alınır. İkinci bölümde, üç temel psikoloji ekolünün kısa tarihi, din ve dinî değişime yaklaşımları ele alınmıştır. Bu bilgiler ışığında üçüncü bölümde Türkiye'de yapılan dinî değişim araştırmalarının bulguları psikolojideki üç temel kuramın yaklaşımları ile değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmalardaki bulguların çoğunlukla yeni-davranışçılık ekolünün sosyal-bilişsel yaklaşımları ve hümanist yaklaşımları içerdiği sonucuna varılmıştır.

This research aims to understand the experience of religious change from a conceptual and theoretical perspective. Turkish and English resources related to the subject were used in the research. In the first part, the conceptual framework is drawn. The first studies of religious change in the West were examined by taking Paul's conversion experience as a prototype on transitions within Christianity (Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant). These researchers focused on studies in which religious change was seen suddenly and dramatically. As the spirit of the time changed, the field of religious change studies expanded. Contemporary religious change researchers focus on new religious and spiritual movements, non-Western and Christian, yet denominational, radical groups. However, contemporary researchers have included the process of leaving religion, which begins with the loss of religious experiences or the interest in a new religious experience, into their research areas. When religious change is examined in terms of its direction, it takes place from inside to outside, from religion to religion, from outside to inside and from inside to outside. When religious change is examined over time; Sudden religious change, gradual religious change, is considered as a religious change originating from society. In the second part, the brief history of the three main psychology schools, their approaches to religion and religious change are discussed. In the third part the findings of studies on religious changes conducted in Turkey were evaluated according to three main approaches in the psychology of religion. It was concluded that the findings in the studies mostly included the social-cognitive approaches of the neo-behavioralism school and the humanist approaches.
