Abstract: The effects of non-thyroidal illness (NTI) (urinary tract diseases, neoplasia, infection and skin diseases etc.) was studied on the thyroid hormone concentrations in dogs. TT4 (p<.001), fT4 (p<.01), TT3 (p<.01), fT3 (p<.01) and TSH (p<.001) concentration were low in dog with NTI when compared to control values. Thyroid hormone was found decreased in gastrointestinal and infectious diseases (p<.05).
