Ebü'l-Hasen Ali b. Hasen es-Sîrcânî'nin Kitâbü'l-Beyâz ve's-Sevâd adlı eseri

Abstract

Ebü'l-Hasen Ali b. Hasen el-Kirmânî es-Sîrcânî'nin (ö. 470/1077) Kitâbü'l-Beyâz ve's-Sevâd isimli eseri hicrî dördüncü ve beşinci yüzyıllarda kaleme alınıp, sünnî tasavvufun oluşmasına katkı sağlayan eserlerden biridir. Kuşeyrî ve Harkûşî gibi meşhur müelliflerle aynı dönemde yaşayan Sîrcânî, kendinden önceki literatürden büyük ölçüde istifâde ederek bir tasavvuf antolojisi kitabı hazırlamıştır. Eserde tasavvuf ve sûfî kelimelerinin menşe'inden başlanarak seyr ü sülûk kavramları, âdâb bahisleri, şiirler, sûfî şatahâtı ve biyografiler gibi, tasavvufun pek çok konusuna dair rivâyetler nakledilmiştir. Bu çalışmada Kitâbü'l-Beyâz ve's-Sevâd, çağdaşı diğer kitaplarla mukâyese edilmiş; beslendiği kaynaklar ve sonraki döneme bıraktığı etki araştırılmıştır. Bu bağlamda söz konusu eserin özgünlüğü ortaya konarak, tasavvuf literatüründeki yeri ve önemi tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Abū l-Hasan 'Ali b. al-Hasan al-Sīrjānī's (d. ca. 470/1077) book titled Kitāb al-Bayād wa-l-Sawād, written in 4th and 5th centuries of hijri calendar, is one of the books that contributed to the formation of Sunni mysticism. Sīrjānī, contemporary of famous authors al-Qushayrī and al-Harkūšī, prepared an anthology of mysticism in light of the preceding literature. Beginning with the roots of words "mysticism" and "sufi," the work covers concepts as spiritual journey (sayr and suluk), moral discussions, poems, sufi ecstatic utterances (sufi shatahat) and biographies, and mystic narratives. In this work, Kitāb al-Bayād wa-l-Sawād is compared to its contemporaries, and the sources it benefited from and its influence to its subsequent era is investigated. In this context, this work tries to put forth the authenticity of the book, and determine its place and significance in mysticism literature.
