Abstract: Teaching English through games is one of the best ways to provide entertainment when learning a language. Hence, this study aims at investigating what primary school children think about learning a language through games, and finding out whether there is congruence between the children's and English language teachers' perspectives about the issue. 121 5th grade learners and 60 language teachers were asked to complete a 23- item questionnaire about different aspects of using games in language classes. The results revealed mostly positive opinions about the issue and there are statistically significant differences between learners' and teachers' ideas on several points.
