Paganların eleştirilerine karşı Macarius Magnes’in hıristiyanlık savunusu

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Macarius Magnes’in, Pagan bir münekkidin eleştirilerine karşı kaleme aldığı Apocriticus adlı eser üzerinden onun Hıristiyanlık savunusu incelenmektedir. Eser, Hıristiyan inancına dair soru-cevap şeklinde bir diyalog üzerine kurgulanmıştır.Diyaloğun gerçek mi yoksa hayali/kurgusal bir konuşma mı olduğu araştırmacılar nezdinde tartışmalıdır. Apocriticus’un yazarının adı, tarihi, yazıldığı yer, eserdeki Pagan münekkidin kimliği ve hatta eserin tam başlığının ne olduğu her zaman bir şüphe konusu olmuştur. Giriş ve dört bölümden oluşan bu çalışmanın birinci bölümünde Apocriticus’adair belirsizlik teşkil bu hususlar üzerinde durulmuştur. İkinci ve üçüncü bölümlerde Pagan münekkidin İsa’ya ve Hıristiyan teolojisine yönelttiği eleştiriler ve Macarius’un bu eleştirilere karşı yaptığı savunular yer almaktadır. Son olarak dördüncü bölümde Havari Pavlus ve Petrus özelinde münekkidin havarilere yönelttiği eleştiriler ve Macarius’unsavunuları incelenmiştir.

This study examines Macarius Magnes’ defense of Christianity through his workcalled the Apocriticus, which he wrote against the criticisms of the Pagan objector. Thework is based on a dialogue through questions and answers about the Christian faith. Whether the conversation is genuine or fictional is controversial among researchers. Thework’s author, date, place of writing, the Pagan objector’s identity, and even the exacttitle has always been doubtful. This thesis contains an introduction and four chapters. Thefirst chapter is about these issues, which constitute uncertainty about Apocriticus. The second and third chapters covers the Pagan objector’s criticisms against Jesus andChristian theology and Macarius’ defenses against these criticisms. Finally, in the fourthchapter, the objector’s objections against the apostles and the defenses of Macarius are examined within the scope of the Apostles Paul and Petrus.
