Claude Monet ve Edgar Degas'nın eserlerinin biçim ve içerik açısından incelenmesi

Abstract

Empresyonizm dönemi içinde olan Claude Monet ve Edgar Degas adlı iki sanatçının eserleri biçim ve içerik açısından incelenmiştir. Aynı akım içinde olmalarına rağmen iki sanatçının eserlerinde ortak ve farklı noktalar tespit edilmiştir. Empresyonist sanatçıların her biri kendi mizacına göre resimsel anlatım dilini oluşturmuştur. Monet, resimlerinde duyumlarını aktarırken geleneksel görüntüyü parçalamış, lekesel değerde hava perspektifini uygulamıştır. Degas ise izlenimlerini aktarmada insan figürünün hareketli görünümlerini farklı bakış açılarında tasarlamış, desen anlayışında çizgisel perspektifi ele almıştır. Bu doğrultuda modern döneme zemin hazırlayan sanatçıların, diğer dönemleri şekillendirecek nitelikte eserler ortaya koyduğu görülmüştür. Monet ve Degas'nın eserleri arasında ortak ve farklı noktaların, detaylı araştırmasının yapılmadığı taranan kaynaklarda görülmüş ve konunun incelenmesi gerektiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada, Monet ve Degas’nın eserlerinin, biçim ve içerik açısından ortak ve farklı yönlerinin yorumlanması amaçlanmıştır. Empresyonist anlayışta; Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Eduard Manet, Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, Paul Cezanne, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Mary Stevenson Cassatt gibi sanatçılardan tezin ilk bölümünde yer verilerek kısaca bilgilendirilmiş, fakat çalışma grubunu Claude Monetve Edgar Degas oluşturmuştur. Bu sanatçıların eserlerinde biçim ve içerik bağlamında empresyonist düşüncenin varlığı araştırılmış, iki sanatçının ortak ve farklı noktaları ele alınarak eserlerinde betimleyici, yorumlayıcı ve değerlendirmeci anlayışla incelemeler yapılmıştır. Monet'nin peyzajlarında, açık havada doğal ışık izlenimine yönelik bir başkaldırı varken Degas'nın insan figürlerinde, iç mekânda yapay ışık izlenimine yönelik başkalaşım olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda empresyonizm akımının, sanat tarihine büyük katkı sağladığı ve yön verdiği görülmüştür. Yapılan araştırma-inceleme doğrultusunda, iki sanatçı arasında izlenimler, konular ve üslup bakımından farklılıklar olsa bile sanatta çeşitliliği sağlayarak empresyonizm akımı paralelinde eser ürettikleri keşfedilmiştir.

The works of two artists, Claude Monet and Edgar Degas, who were in the Impressionism period, were examined in terms of form and content. Although they are in the same movement, common and different aspects have been determined in the works of the two artists. Each Impressionist artist created their own pictorial expression language according to their temperament. Monet, while conveying his sensations in his paintings, broke the traditional image and applied the aerial perspective with a spotty value. Degas, on the other hand, designed the moving views of the human figure from different perspectives in conveying his impressions, and discussed the linear perspective in his understanding of pattern. In this direction, it has been seen that the artists who laid the groundwork for the modern period produced works that would shape other periods. It was seen that the common and different aspects between the works of Monet and Degas were not investigated in detail in the sources and it was determined that the subject should be examined. In the research, it is aimed to interpret and discuss the common and different points of the works of Monet and Degas in terms of form and content. For Impressionist understanding; Brief information about artists such as Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Eduard Manet, Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, Paul Cezanne, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Mary Stevenson Cassatt are included in the first part of the thesis, but Claude Monet and Edgar Degas formed the working group. In these works, the existence of impressionist thought in the context of form-content was investigated, and the common and different aspects of the two artists were discussed and in-depth research and discussions were made on their works with a descriptive, interpretive and evaluative understanding. In Monet's landscapes, there is a revolt against the impression of natural light in the open air, while in Degas's human figures, there is a metamorphosis towards the impression of artificial light in the interior. In this direction, it has been seen that the Impressionism movement has contributed greatly to the history of art and given direction. In line with the research and analysis, it was discovered that even though there were differences between the two artists in terms of impressions, subjects and styles, they produced works in parallel with the Impressionism movement that provided diversity in art.
