Bursa Orhan Gazi Külliyesi

Abstract

Külliyeler, Türk Tarihinde, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı dönemlerinde sıkça rastladığımız, toplumun ilim, bilim, din gibi ihtiyaçlarının yanında; kültürel, yaşamsal ve sosyal hayatın ihtiyaçlarını da karşılayacak alanlardan müteşekkil yapılar topluluğudur. Bu yapıların merkezinde her zaman bir cami yer almış, etrafında ise çeşitli kuruluşlar; hamam, medrese, mektep, imaret, zaviye, tekke, kervansaray, darüşşifa, aşevi, çarşı gibi binalar inşa edilmiştir. Külliyeler, çok fonksiyonlu yapılar bütünlüğü olmalarından mütevellit her zaman cazibe merkezleri olmuş; tamamlandıkları dönemde, toplumun da kısa sürede etraflarına evlerini yapmaları hasebiyle, şehirlerde yeni yaşam merkezleri oluşturmuştur. Osmanlı Dönemi, külliyeler açısından en ünlü örnekleri ihtiva etmektedir. Çalışma konum olan "Bursa Orhan Gazi Külliyesi", Osmanlı Dönemi'nde külliye inşasında başlangıç olarak sayabileceğimiz bina edilmiş ilk külliyelerdendir. Cami, medrese, mektep, imaret, zaviye, han ve hamamdan meydana gelmesi ile külliye mimari açıdan incelenmiş; dönemindeki sosyal ve kültürel etkilerinden bahsedilmiş, ayrıca vakfiyesi hakkında da bilgi verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bursa Orhan Gazi Külliyesi'ni tanımadan evvel dönemin Bursa'sı ve müesseseyi inşa ettiren Orhan Gazi ile ilgili araştırma yapılmış, daha sonra akademik anlamda bir bütün olarak hakkında kayda değer bir araştırma bulunmayan Bursa Orhan Gazi Külliyesi çeşitli yönleriyle anlatılmak istenmiştir.

Complexes are the building ensembles which are frequently met in Turkish History, in the Seljuk and the Ottoman periods. They were established to give reply to the needs of the community's cultural, social and vital needs. Besides they give reply to the needs of the knowledge, science and religion areas. In the center of these complexes, there is always a mosque. And that mosque is rounded with foundations such as public baths, temporary kitchens, madrasahs, schools, dervish lodges, caravansaraies, bazaars, hospitals and hostels. Complexes used to be always on the focus of attention because of they are being these functional building ensembles. At the time their construction were finished, society moved their houses around that complexes so that the new city center were created. Ottoman period includes the most famous complex buildings. Bursa Orhan Bey Complex, which is the subject of my study, can be counted as one of the first builded complexes in the Early Ottoman Period that we may say this ensemble gave start of building these kind of complexes at that time. It is studied both as architectural and social elements and its effects in social and cultural life because of it is formed by a mosque, a madrasah, a school, a temporary kitchen, a hostel, a bazaar and a public bath. In addition, an information about charter of its waqf is given. Before getting knowing Bursa Orhan Bey Complex, researches are done about Bursa of that time period and Orhan Ghazi who builded that complex. By this way, Bursa Orhan Bey Complex is tried to be explained as a whole which is not done before.
