Picard grubu ve H(√n) hecke gruplarının bazı alt grupları

Abstract

Picard grubu PSL(2, Z(/)), PSL(2, C)'nin ayrık bir alt grubudur. H(\) Hecke grupları ise PSL(2, R)'nin, X > 2 sabit bir pozitif reel sayı olmak üzere R(z) = - ve T(z) = z + X z doğrusal dönüşümleri ile üretilen ayrık alt gruplarıdır. Bu çalışmada Picard grubunun Fuchsian alt grupları ile Hecke gruplarının normal alt grupları incelenmiştir. Birinci bölümde, çalışmanın ikinci ve üçüncü bölümlerindeki incelemeler için gerekli olan temel kavramlar verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, Picard grubu ve en çok çalışılan Fuchsian alt grubu olan modüler grup hakkında kısaca temel bilgiler verilerek öncelikle modüler grubun Picard grubundaki normalleştiricisi incelenmiştir. Daha sonra Picard grubunun maksimal Fuchsian alt grupları ile ilgili bazı sonuçlar verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde H(X) Hecke grupları kısaca tanıtılarak özellikle H(V5) Hecke grubu ele alınmıştır. H(v5 ) Hecke grubunun grup yapısı incelenerek, normal alt grupları geniş ölçüde çalışılmıştır. Son olarak H(v5) ve H(v7) Hecke gruplarının temel denklik alt grupları ve denklik alt grupları incelenmiştir.

The Picard group PSL(2, Z(/')) is a discrete subgroup of PSL(2, C). The Hecke groups H(X) are the discrete subgroups of PSL(2, R) generated by R(z) = - and T(z) = z + X z where X > 2 is a fixed positive real number. In this thesis, Fuchsian subgroups of the Picard group and normal subgroups of these Hecke groups are discussed. In the first chapter basic notions which are necessary in the second and third chapters are given. In the second chapter, fundamental concepts on the Picard group and its most popular Fuchsian subgroup, called the modular group, are given briefly, and the normaliser of the modular group in the Picard group is investigated. Some results related to maximal Fuchsian subgroups of the Picard group are given. In the third chapter, after introducing Hecke groups H(X) briefly, the Hecke group H(V5) is considered. The group structure of H(V5) is investigated and its normal subgroups are searched. Finally, principal congruence subgroups and congruence subgroups of H(v5 ) and H(V7 ) are given.
