Mesleki amaçlı İngilizce düzeyi belirleme sınavı geliştirilmesi üzerine bir çalışma

Abstract

Globalleşen dünyada yabancı dilin artık ihtiyaç olmaktan çıkıp bir olmazsa olmaz haline geldiği günümüzde; spesifik ihtiyaçlar, beklentiler ile yerel değerler nedeniyle firmaların yabancı dil gereksinimlerine bütünüyle çözüm sunabilecek ve ihtiyacı giderecek ulusal veya uluslar arası bir platform Türkiye’de bulunmamaktadır. Firmalar, gerek işe alırken iş tanımına uygun dil becerisine sahip adaylar ararken gerek başvuruları değerlendirirken, gerekse de çalışma esnasında doğabilecek gelişim ihtiyacını analiz edecek, kişi ve kişilere hedef gelişime uygun eğitim programları tasarlayacak bir servis arayışı içindedirler. Bu çalışmada firmaların bu konudaki ihtiyaçlarının neler olduğu ve bu ihtiyaçları karşılamanın ne derece mümkün olabileceği sorularına yanıtlar aranmaktadır. Mevcut ulusal ve uluslar arası sınav merkezleri ve sistemlerinin bu süreçte oynadıkları roller ve genel anlamda bu konudaki eksiklerin tanımlanması hedeflenmiş ve bu eksikleri gidermek için çözüm oluşturacak bir proje sunulmuştur.

Today, in our world, where the ability to speak a foreign language has become a must rather than a need, there is still no national or international platform, within Turkey, that provides a complete solution for the foreign language demands of companies. The reasons for this are due to some specific requirements, expectations and varying local values. Companies have been in search of a complete service, which could design educational programs suitable for aimed objectives while they are recruiting new employees, also evaluating the applications or analyzing needs for improvements that may arise at work. In this study, answers are sought for the following two main questions; “what are the demands of the companies in this area?” and “what extent is it possible to meet their needs?”. This study aims to identify the roles of present national and international testing organizations and the systems in this process, and the deficiencies within this subject, in a general sense. This project is presented as a possible solution to this deficiency.
