İnkılap’tan İhtilal’e eğitim: Pedagog İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu

Abstract

Eğitim tarihimizde önemli bir yeri olan İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmamızda şu sorulara cevaplar aradık: Baltacıoğlu üzerinde tesir eden adamlar kimlerdir? Baltacıoğlu kimleri okudu? Baltacıoğlu’nu kimler okudu? Baltacıoğlu’nun tesir ettiği dünya hangi dünyadır? Baltacıoğlu’nun ifade ettiği dünya nasıl bir dünyadır? Önce onun yaşamı ve hayat felsefesi incelendi. Daha sonra Baltacıoğlu’nun eğitim görüşleri ve “İçtimai Mektep” dediği eğitim sistemi anlatılarak, eğitimle ilgili önemli kitaplarına değinildi. Baltacıoğlu’nun eğitim görüşleri, mevcut eğitim felsefeleriyle karşılaştırıldı. Çalışmamızı, Baltacıoğlu’nun çok yönlü kişiliğinin içinden O’nun eğitimci yönüyle sınırlandırdık. Tiyatro, siyaset, din, sanat, milliyetçilik vb. diğer yönlerine ve görüşlerine “eğitim” ile ilişkilendirilebilecek kadarıyla değinilmeye çalışıldı. Askeri eğitim, laik eğitim, dini eğitim, ideolojik eğitim, bilimsel eğitim vb. gibi eğitimin çeşitlendirildiği günümüzde eğitimin demokratik olması gerektiği vurgulandı. “Demokratik Eğitim” ve “Yeniden Kurmacılık (Reconstructions)” üzerinde duruldu. Öğrenci merkezli eğitim okul merkezli toplum demektir.

İsmail Hakki Baltacioğlu, who has an important place in our education history, from the main part of this study. We have searched answers for these questions: Who are the men İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu was influenced bv? Who did İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu read and who read him? What kind of world did he influence? What kind of world did he Express? Firt, his life and world view was examined. Then his approaches in education and the education system which he called “Social School” were explained –referring and mentioning to his most fundamental and prominent boks on education. His education views were compared to present education philosophies. We narrowed down our study only into his educator aspect amongst his versatile and multifaceted personality. Other aspects like theatre, politics, religion, arts, nationalism, etc. were only touched enough to be related with “education”. It was emphasized that at our present time “the education” –diversified as military education, secular education, religious education, ideological education, scientific education- should be “democratic”. “Re-consructionism” and “Democratic Education” were also discoursed. A student centric education means a school centric society.
