Ütopyalar ve karşı-ütopyalar bağlamında modern felsefi düşünce ve eleştirisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı ütopya örneklerinden bazılarının incelenmesi yoluyla modern felsefi düşüncenin temel karakteristiklerini ortaya koymak ve karşı-ütopyalardan bazılarının tetkik edilmesi kanalıyla da modern felsefi düşüncenin nasıl eleştirildiğine ışık tutabilmektir.İlk bölümde ütopya ve karşı-ütopya kavramları tanımlanmaya çalışılmış ve onları oluşturan temalar ve tarihi süreçler araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca, çalışmamızda örnek olarak kullandığımız ütopya örnekleri olan Utopia, Güneş Ülkesi ve Yeni Atlantis ile karşı-ütopya örnekleri olan Biz, Cesur Yeni Dünya ve Bin Dokuz Yüz Seksen Dört hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İkinci bölüm modern felsefi düşüncenin ne olduğu ve nasıl meydana geldiği ile ilgili bir soruşturmadır. Modern felsefi düşüncenin tarihi seyri Rönesans'tan başlayıp on sekizinci yüzyıl Aydınlanma düşüncesine kadar izlenmeye çalışılmıştır.Üçüncü bölümde önce ütopya ve modernizm arasındaki ilişkiye değinilmiş, ardından da seçilen ütopya örnekleri bağlamında modern felsefenin temel özellikleri incelemeye tabi tutulmuş; modern düşüncenin, toplum felsefeleri olarak görülebilecek ütopya metinlerinde kendini nasıl ve ne ölçüde gösterdiği araştırılmıştır.Son bölümde ise modern düşüncenin on dokuz ve yirminci yüzyıldaki seyri resmedilmeye çalışılmış ve kendisine yöneltilen eleştiriler karşı-ütopyalar bağlamında ele alınmıştır.

The purpose of this study is examining the basic characteristics of modern philosophical thought and its reviews by giving particular examples of utopias and dystopias, as well.In the first chapter, the terms of utopia and dystopia has been tried to define; concepts, themes and historical processes that created them were investigated. In addition, it is informed about the literal works used as examples of utopia which are Utopia, The City of The Sun and New Atlantis and dystopias that are We, Brave New World and Nineteen Eighty-Four.The second chapter of our thesis is a sort of investigation related to what is modern philosophical thought and how it occured. The historical journey of modern philosophical thought has been tried to be followed starting from the beginning of Renaissance to the eighteenth century's Enlightenment.In the third chapter, firstly, the relationship between utopia and modernism has been mentioned; and then, the basic features of modern philosophy have been subjected on the context of selected utopia samples. In the final section of this chapter it has been investigated that how and to what extend the modern thought shows itself in utopias which can be seen as an entire social philosophy texts.In the last chapter of the thesis, the course of modern thought in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries has been described and its criticisms have been addressed on the context of dystopias.
