Üniversite öğrencilerinde dini inanç ve benlik saygısı ilişkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinde dini inanç gelişimi ve benlik saygısı ilişkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla, Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp, Mühendislik-Mimarlık, İktisadi İdari Bilimler, Eğitim, İlahiyat ve Fen-Edebiyat Fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 475 öğrenciye İman Gelişimi Ölçeği ve Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, araştırmada yer alan üniversiteli gençlerin iman gelişim aşamaları ile benlik saygılarının yükseğe yakın düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Bunun yanı sıra iman gelişiminin yaş, sosyo-ekonomik düzey ve din eğitimi açısından; benlik saygısının yaş açısından anlamlı farklılaşma gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Çalışmanın sonunda İman gelişim aşamaları ile benlik saygısının ilişkili olduğu, iman gelişim aşamaları yönündeki artışın benlik saygısındaki artış ile paralellik gösterdiği kanısına varılmıştır.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between religious belief and self-esteem among university students. For this purpose, Faith Development Scale and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale are applied to 475 students attending faculties of Uludağ University such as Medicine, Engineering-Architecture, Economics, Education, Theology and Literature. According to the result of the study, faith development stage and self-esteem level of the university students are found to be high. Faith development is also found significantly different according to age, social-economic level and religious education; selfesteem is found significantly different according to age. This study has concluded that faith development stages and self-esteem are closely related and an increase in faith development stages parallels an increase self-esteem.
