Abstract

Bu çalışmada eski ve çok önemli bir yerleşim yeri olan Niş Sancağının XIX. asırdaki genel durumu, idarî, eğitim ve sosyal yapısı ve Niş'i etkileyen siyasî, sosyal ve uluslararası hadiseler ele alınmıştır. Çalışma giriş ve sonuç dışında üç ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında çalışmanın konusu, amacı, önemi, muhtevası, yöntemi ve kullanılan kaynaklar hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Birinci bölümün ilk kısmında Niş sancağının konumu, tarihçesi ve ikinci kısmında ise genel olarak Niş'in idarî yapısı bilhassa Tanzimat dönemindeki gelişmeler detaylı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde Tanzimat döneminde Niş sancağının eğitim durumu, basın yayın haberleşme ve sosyal yapılarına değinilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise XIX. yüzyılda Niş sancağını doğrudan etkileyen ve Osmanlı Devleti'ni yıkmak için yapılan isyanlar, çeşitli projeler, savaşlar, sürgün ve uluslararası antlaşmalar ele alınmıştır. İncelemede başta Osmanlı Arşivi olmak üzere salnâmeler ve farklı matbu eserlerden, seyyahların eserlerinden ve çeşitli dillerde yapılmış araştırmalardan istifade edilmiştir.

This study investigates the administrative, educational and social structure of Sanjak of Nish, which is an ancient and important settlement, throughout Nineteenth Century. In addition it focuses on the political, social and international issues which influenced Nish. The study is comprised of an intoduction and three mains chapters. The introduction includes information regarding the subject, purpose, importance, methodology of the study and resources which have been used in the study. The first part of the first chapter includes information regarding the location, and history of Sanjak of Nish. The second part of the first chapter presents the general administrative structure of Nish specially it focuses on events throughout Tanzimat in details. The second chapter focuses on educational, social structure, press and telecommunication in Sanjak of Nish. The third chapter includes information regarding the issues and events that influenced directly Sanjak of Nish and riots, projects, war for demolishment of Ottoman State, exile and international treaties. The main sources of the study are Archives of Ottoman State, yearbooks (Salnâme), printed works, travellers' notes and researches regarding the subject from different languages.
