Abstract

Frederic Rzewski’nin The People United Will Never Be Defeated! ve Les Moutons de Panurge başlıklı sıra dışı iki eseri, form ve anlayışıyla yirminci yüzyıl piyano müziğine getirdiği yeni bakış açıları yönünden ilgi çekicidir. Birbirinden bağımsız iki farklı dünyayı sunan bu iki eserin yazılma süreç ve koşulları incelendiğinde ortak noktalar göze çarpmaktadır. Bu ortak değerler ve eserlerin zıt yapıları, dokümanın inceleme konusunu oluşturur.

Frederic Rzewski's two remarkable piano works, The People United Will Never Be Defeated! and Les Moutons de Panurge are extraordinary in terms of the new perspectives they introduce to 20th century piano music through innovation in form and concept. Offering two independent worlds, when procedures and conditions of these works are examined, common grounds stand out. These common properties, as well as the adverse structures of the two works are the main focus point of this document.
