Abstract

Ülkemiz günden güne gelişmektedir ve bir yabancı dil öğretimi çağdaş uygarlık düzeyine ulaşma sürecinde vazgeçilmez olduğu bir gerçektir. Günümüzde yabancı dil öğretimi, ilköğretimden başlayarak yüksek öğretime kadar uzanmaktadır. Gerek orta öğretimde, gerekse yüksek öğretimde, öğrencilerimize, bir yabancı dili neden öğrenmek gerektiği konusunda bilgilendirmemiz gereklidir.

In this paper, I analyzed the three main difficulties experienced by third and foıuth year translation students in the Education Faculty, Uludağ University, I992-1993. My procedure was to question 100 students on the three major difficulties they face when translating from Turkish to English. According to the results, there are fourteen different problems that students face when they translate. I observed the first and foremost difficulties which are as follows
