İnternetin Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi 5. ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin hayatındaki yeri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi (UÜTF) 5. ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin interneti kullanma düzeyleri ve internete bakış açıları değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmaya 473 öğrenciden 368’i katılmıştır. Öğrencilerin %3.5’inin bilgisayarı, %12.2’sinin interneti hiç kullanmadığı, %19.8’inin ise e-posta hesabı olmadığı saptanmıştır. İnternet kullanımı 5.sınıf öğrencileri arasında 6.sınıf öğrencilerine göre daha yaygındır. Öğrencilerin büyük bir kısmı internete kütüphane ortamından erişmektedir. İnternetten tıp eğitiminde daha çok tıbbi literatür tarama amacıyla yararlanıldığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Eğitim ve araştırma interneti kullanma amaçları içerinde ilk sırayı almıştır. Öğrencilerin %61.7’si internet kullanmaya başladığından beri daha çok bilgiye daha kolay eriştiğini ifade etmiştir. İnternet ile ilgili sorunlar içerisinde en önemlisi hız-kapasite sorunudur. Öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğuna göre internet gelecekte hayatın her kesimine girecektir.

In this study, internet usage level and perception of internet were evaluated among 5th and 6th-year students of Uludağ University Medical Faculty. Of 473 students, 368 participated in the study. It was found that 3.5% of the students never used a computer, 12.2% of them never used internet and 19.8% of them did not have any e-mail adreess. Internet usage among the 5th-year-students was more common than that was among the 6th-year-students. Majority of the students have reached internet through the library. It was revealed that internet was used in medical education commonly in order to search medical literature. Education and research were in first rank among goals of internet usage. Since they started to use internet, 61.7% of the students stated that they could reach more knowledge easily by internet. The students pointed that the most important problems of internet were its speed and the capacity. According to most of the students, internet will be utilized in all areas of life in the future.
