Sinema felsefesi ve ingmar Bergman’ın varoluşçu sineması

Abstract

Sinema 1890’lı yılların sonunda ortaya çıkmış ve birkaç on yıl içerisinde neredeyse tüm dünyaya yayılmıştır. Felsefe bu yeni sanat formuna kayıtsız kalamamıştır. Ortaya çıkışından hemen sonra Batı felsefe geleneği sinemanın neliği ve işlevini yoğun bir biçimde tartışmıştır. Akademik bir disiplin olarak sinema felsefesi 1970’li yıllardan itibaren önem kazanmıştır. Daha sonra sinema felsefesi ile film teorisi arasındaki farklar ortaya konularak sinema felsefesinin alanı daha da belirginleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amaçlarından birincisi sinemanın gerçek ve biricik bir sanat dalı olduğunu ortaya koymak ve onunla felsefe yapmanın olanaklı olduğunu iddia eden bazı temel argümanları serimlemektir. Bunu yaparken sinemanın « imge »leri yazılı ve sözlü felsefenin de « kavram »ları kullandığı vurgulanmıştır. Sinema ile yapılan felsefe ile klasik felsefenin farklı olması doğaldır. İkinci amacımız, « Varoluçu sinema » olarak tanımlanabilecek bir kategorinin belirlenmesidir. Bunu yapabilmek için Ingmar Bergman’ın sanata bakışı ve etkilendiği felsefi kaynaklar betimlenmeye çalışılmıştır. « Varoluşçu sinema » kategorisinin temellerini Varoluşçu felsefeden aldığı ve en önemli temsilcisinin İsveçli yönetmen ve senarist Ingmar Bergman olduğu önesürülmüştür. Ingmar Bergman’ın sinemasının Varoluşçu olup olmadığı detaylı bir biçimde tartışılmıştır. Çalışmanın son kısmında I. Bergman’ın filmografisini dönemlere ayrılmıştır. Örnek filmler seçilerek « Varoluşçu sinema » anlayışı altında incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu sinema filmlerinin ne tür felsefi sorunları gündeme getirdiği irdelenmiştir.

Cinema has emerged at the end of 1890’s and it has spreaded all over the world in a few decades. Philosophy could not be indifferent to this new art form. Shortly after it has emerged Western philosophy tradition has discussed its quality and function intensively. Philosophy of cinema has come into prominence after 1970’s as an academic discipline. After that, differences between philosophy of cinema and theory of film has been put forth and the area of philosophy of cinema has been concretised. First aim of this dissertation is to show that cinema is a uniqe and real art form and to expose the some of the main arguments claims that it is possible to do philosophy with it. While doing this, it has been emphasized that cinema uses “images” and philosophy uses “concepts”. It is natural that the philosophy done with cinema and classical philosophy are different. Our second aim is to determine a category which can be described as “Existentialist cinema”. It has been tried to descrine the philosophical sources of Ingmar Bergman and his view of art to do this. It has been asserted that “Existentialist cinema” is based on Existentialist philosophy and its main representative is Swedish filmmaker and scripwriter Ingmar Bergman. It has been discussed whether Ingmar Bergman’s cinema is Existentilist or not in detail. At the last part of the dissertation Ingmar Bergman’s filmography is divided into periods. With choosing example films they have been analysed under scope of “Existentialist cinema”. It has been scrutinised the philosophical questions of these films had brought forward.
