Abstract: Today, Turkey is passing through a period that is crucial not only politically, but also as a time for evaluating the total economic structure and for determining the next steps of development. The urgent need of Turkey like many other developing countries to accelerate industrialization and to raise living standards has made it imperative to undertake practical programmes designed to further social and economic progress. The organized industrial districts are recent additions to the many instruments and techniques which have been successfully applied in order to encourage industrial development in Turkey.
