Farklı kuşaklarda çalışmanın anlamlandırılması: Nitel bir araştırma

Abstract

Çalışmanın anlamı, değişen dünya ve ekonomik dinamikler ile dönüşüme uğramış olup Türkiye’de de yıllar içerisinde gerek temel üretim alanlarındaki yoğunluğun değişimi, gerek toplumsal kültürel dönüşümler neticesinde farklılaşmış, dolayısıyla kuşakların çalışma olgusunu anlamlandırma eğilimlerinin dönüştüğü varsayılmıştır. Mevcut araştırmada farklı kuşakların çalışma olgusuna genel bakışları ve çalışmanın bugünü ve geleceğine dair görüşleri incelenmiştir. Kuşakların çalışma olgusunu anlamlandırma eğilimleri, çalışmanın anlamlandırılmasına dair sorulardan oluşan bir form aracılığıyla yapılandırılmış görüşmeler ile irdelenmiş, bebek patlaması, X, Y ve Z kuşaklarından farklı çalışma deneyimlerine sahip toplam 24 katılımcı ile görüşme yapılmış ve çalışmayı anlamlandırma eğilimleri gözlemlenmiştir. Nitel analiz yöntemi ile vurgulanan temalar belirlenmiş, temalar Rosso ve arkadaşlarının (2010) kavramsal çerçevesi kullanılarak kategorize edilmiş, farklı kuşaklarda ifade edilen temalar ortaya konmuştur.

Meaning of work is differentiated along with the dynamics of changing economies and world, as well as in Turkey as a result of the changes in industries and cultural atmosphere. Hereby, the mechanisms and sources of the meaning of work is to be evaluated as differentiated among the generational cohorts. In this research, perspectives of different generations’ to phenomenon of work as well as the today future of work had been investigated. Meaning of work is examined with qualitative method, by semi structured interviews with using a question form that consists questions related to the meaning of work. The cohorts included in this study are baby boomers, X, Y and Z and 24 participants in total had contributed to the study. Qualitative method had been applied to differentiate themes of meaning of work and determined themes were categorized by the framework that is published by Rosso and others (2010), and displayed.
