Modern düşüncede temsil fikri ve postmodern itirazlar

Abstract

Modern düşünce gerçekliğin rasyonel olana müracaatla kavranabileceği noktasında klasik düşünce ile ortak bir konumu paylaşmakta fakat bununla beraber varlık, bilgi ve hakikat üzerine olan söylemlerini özne zemininde temellendirerek klasik dönemin anlayışından farklılık arz etmektedir. Klasik dönemle olan bağlarını bu hümanist ve subjektivist anlayış lehine koparan modern dönem, temsilci düşünme mantığı ile sadece bilgi anlayışına değil ontolojik, etik-politik ve estetik düşüncelerine de yön vermiş ve rasyonelleşmiş bir düşünceyi benimsemiştir. Bu epistemolojik serüven, başlangıcından bu yana ihtiva ettiği birtakım sorunlar sebebiyle postmodern düşünce tarafından eleştiriye açılmaktadır. Bu noktada modern düşünceye bir tepki olarak kendisini onun karşısında konumlandıran postmodern anlayış, gerçekliğin temsil edilebilirliği konusunda modern düşünceden ayrılmaktadır. Temsil fikrinin gerek teorik olarak imkansızlığı gerekse pratik olarak sorunlu yönleri sebebiyle postmodern düşünce böylesi bir temsil anlayışına itiraz etmektedir. Bu nedenle postmodern düşünce, temsil fikrinin, epistemik iddialarının yanısıra etik ve politik imaları da barındıran baskıcı bir yapıya sahip olduğuna dikkat çekerek uzun süre özdeşlik lehine bastırılan farklılığı olumlayan bir söyleme açılmaktadır Temsilin imkanı/imkansızlığı konusunda iki zıt pozisyonda konumlanan modern ve postmodern düşüncenin sözkonusu düşünce tarzına yönelik iddiaları çalışmanın ana konusudur. Çalışmamız bu perspektiften hareketle temsil fikrinin serüvenini ele almak suretiyle bu düşünce tarzının sebeplerini ve tezahürlerini, sorunlarını ve sınırlarını analiz edecektir.

Modern thought meets on a common ground with clasiccal thougt in the idea that reality can be grasp applying rationality, however, it dissents from classical thought with regard to ground its discourses about being, knowledge and truth on modern subject. Modern thought which had broken off its links with classical thought on behalf of humanist and subjectivist understanding, had adopted a rational thought which took turn its epistemology as well as its ontological, ethic-politic and aesthectic thoughts. This epistemological adventure has been critisized by postmodern thought since it contains several problems from the begining. In this context postmodern understanding which takes a position against the modern thought as a reaction has seperated from it. Postmodern thought has objected to the idea of modern representation on account of the fact that both its theoretical imposibility and practical problems. Therefore, postmodern thought draws attention to the point that the idea of respresentation carries an oppressive structure with ethic and politic implications as well as its epistemological claims. Based on its oppresive structrue, postmodern thought opens up to a discourse approving differences which has been dominated by the idea of identiy. This study evaluates modern and postmodern claims which take opposite positions on the possibility and imposibility of the representation. In the present study, we are going to analyze its reasons, manifestations, problems and boundaries within the scope of this perspective.
